You pull a book from the shelf. It has a hard, leathery texture with a green cover. The front is embroidered with flowing, golden designs along the edges. In grand text, the words "A Traveler’s Tome" are written across. You open the book to the first page.
An Introduction
Assuming my plans to use the cards of duplication and dispersion on this book worked (see chapter 3), you should be one of many to find a copy. This tome serves as a guide to those new to the library. On each page is something I have encountered at least once in my time, each significant in some way. I encourage you to read through the entire thing and learn what you can. This book may very well save your life, among other things.

Theoretically, I may be able to extend the length of this book even after casting the cards on it. I plan to add new pages to the original which should propagate over all of the copies. Every now and then, check back to see if the table of contents have gotten any longer.
If you choose to close the book, another tome rests on the shelf.
